Job summary

Mana Education is seeking SEN/SEND teachers for Derby and surrounding areas, covering primary, secondary and post-16 settings. Roles include day-to-day supply, short- and long-term placements, maternity cover and permanent positions, with flexible full-time or part-time hours.

We welcome ECTs and experienced UK teachers, including those with SEND backgrounds. Roles span specialisms such as autism, SEMH, MLD/SLD, PMLD and SLCN in diverse settings like specialist schools, PRUs and mainstream SEND

Qualifications

• Experience teaching in UK schools preferred.
• DBS checks and safeguarding compliance required.
• ECTs and qualified teachers welcome.
• Experience with SEND encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Adapt lessons to pupils' learning, communication and sensory needs.
• Build trusting relationships and support emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and other professionals.
• Support EHCP outcomes and progress reporting.
• Plan, assess and report on longer-term assignments.

SEN Teacher - Derby and Surrounding Areas

SEN/SEND | SEMH | Primary, Secondary and Post-16

Teacher supply pay: £120-£271 per day, depending on the role, pay scale and school

Location: Derby, Mickleover, Littleover, Allestree, Chaddesden, Spondon, Borrowash, Belper and nearby areas

Contracts: Day-to-day supply, short-term, long-term, maternity cover and permanent

Hours: Full-time and part-time

SEN/SEND Teachers - all specialisms

We welcome experience in specialist schools, alternative provision, pupil referral units, resource bases and mainstream SEND support, including:

• Autism/ASC and ADHD
• Social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)
• Moderate and severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD)
• Profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)
• Speech, language and communication needs (SLCN)
• Specific learning difficulties, including dyslexia and dyspraxia
• Sensory impairments, physical disabilities and complex needs

Experience in nurture provision, positive behaviour support, tutoring and personalised learning is also welcome. You don't need experience across every specialism-tell us where your strengths lie.

Teaching that meets individual needs

Opportunities may span EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4 and post-16, including subject teaching, functional skills, life skills and preparation for adulthood.

Depending on the placement, your role may involve:

• Adapting lessons to pupils' learning, communication and sensory needs
• Building trusting relationships and supporting emotional regulation
• Working with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and other professionals
• Supporting EHCP outcomes and celebrating individual progress
• Planning, assessment and reporting for longer-term assignments

We'll discuss each setting, its pupils and the responsibilities before you accept a placement.
