Job summary

The Esland Group Ltd is opening a new SEN school in Doncaster for pupils aged 7 to 18 with SEND/SEMH. We seek a qualified teacher to deliver maths and science and help establish a rich academic curriculum from day one.

Permanent, full-time role with core hours 8:30am–4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Salary up to £43,194, depending on experience and qualifications, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher status with ability to teach maths and science.
• Experience in SEND/SEMH and specialist education.
• Proven ability to work with pupils who present challenges.

Responsibilities

• Deliver maths and science lessons to pupils at Doncaster SEN school.
• Contribute to the development of a brand new SEN provision.
• Plan, deliver and assess lessons across key stages and qualifications.
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.

Hours: full time (core hours 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday)

We are excited to announce that Esland will be opening a new SEN school in Doncaster in September 2026. This is an exciting and fantastic opportunity to be part of a new, specialist provision supporting vulnerable young people aged 7 to 18 years who have SEND and SEMH needs.

Pupils are encouraged to cover a range of qualifications ranging from Entry Level Certificates, through Functional Skills to GCSE.

What we need from you:

• Qualified Teacher status
• Sound curriculum knowledge surrounding mathematics and science (ideally across several key stages)
• Proven experience of working with specialist education for young people
• Proven experience of working with young people that challenge
• A committed, conscientious and passionate approach to inclusion
• The ability to plan, evaluate and monitor learning and progress
• The ability to build good relationships with young people and staff members alike
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and use time effectively
• A positive attitude to hard work and challenging situations
