Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Doncaster invites applications for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in a nurturing primary school environment. The role involves 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils access learning, and contributing to their academic, social, and emotional development.

You will work closely with teaching staff and SENCOs, follow EHCP targets, build positive relationships with children and parents, and commit to a long-term placement with

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN.
  • Patient, caring and proactive approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from teaching staff and SENCOs.

£90 - £110 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Help implement EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies.

What We're Looking For

Eligibility
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child-related references.
