Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join a specialist primary school in Preston on a temporary-to-permanent basis. You will support pupils with complex needs across 1:1 and small-group tasks, collaborating with teachers, therapists and families.

The role offers ongoing SEN training, a dedicated consultant from Teaching Personnel, and a route to a permanent position, with a competitive daily rate and a commitment to safeguarding and high-quality

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in specialist or mainstream settings.
• Demonstrates patience, resilience, and a child-centred approach.
• Understanding of autism, communication needs, and complex learning difficulties.
• Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Committed to helping every child reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex SEN on 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Assist with personalised learning activities and interventions.
• Encourage communication, social interaction, and independence.
• Support with sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Implement behaviour and communication strategies consistently.
