Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for an independent school in the London borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The role starts ASAP, with potential to go permanent for the right candidate. The TA will support a student with learning difficulties, including autism and dyslexia, in 1:1 and small group settings.

The ideal candidate is calm, patient, pro-active, and able to engage students while promoting independence and a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with children from an SEN background.

• Degree in psychology, education or related field preferred.
• Some training/experience in speech and language/communication.

SEN TA

• Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant

• Full Time, Term time only
• Mon to Friday / Daily Hours: 8.15am to 4.15pm

An Independent school based in the London borough Kensington and Chelsea are requiring a SEN TA to start as soon as possible. The school are looking for a SEN teaching Assistant to support a student with learning difficulties, including autism and dyslexia. For the right candidate the role will begin temporary to then go onto a permanent position.

The school needs an SEN TA who has the ability to keep calm and patient, able to work with other colleagues to support children accordingly. You will need to be pro-active and engaging with the children to maintain relationships with children on a 1:1 level and in small groups. You will have to encourage independence amongst the children and encourage a learning environment.

SEN TA: Required skills and qualifications

• Experience with children from an SEN background
• Alternatively experience working with children with disabilities
• Degree is preferred in subjects such as psychology, education or those alike.
• Some previous training/ experience in speech and language therapy/communication
• High professionalism
• Ability to encourage a successful learning environment.
