Job summary

GSL Education Kent Branch is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join amazing schools across Thanet. This role supports children with Special Educational Needs, helping them develop confidence, independence and learning skills, with 1:1 and small-group support.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the wider school team, have relevant SEN experience or willingness to learn, and must satisfy safer recruitment checks including enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
• Assist with classroom activities and personalised learning tasks.
• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and engagement.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider school team to meet individual needs.
