Job summary

GSL Education Kent is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work in Folkestone. You will support pupils with special educational needs during lessons, provide 1:1 or small-group assistance, encourage progress, and contribute to an inclusive classroom environment.

The role requires patience and good communication; enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one, and availability for flexible full- or part-time long-term or day-to-day opportunities in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to complete a new application.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with special educational needs during lessons and activities.
• Providing 1:1 or small-group assistance where required.
• Helping pupils understand and complete classroom tasks.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and greater independence.
• Supporting pupils with their social and emotional development.
• Working alongside teachers and other support staff.
• Creating a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
