Job summary

Philosophy Education in the United Kingdom is seeking Special Needs Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a Dulwich secondary school. You will work 8:30am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday, on full-time and flexible cover roles, with pay £103–£115 per day (Umbrella) and a focus on learners with visual, physical and communication needs.

Qualifications

Location: Dulwich

Contract: Full-time and flexible cover roles available

Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

Pay: £103 – £115 per day (Umbrella)

About the Role

Philosophy Education is currently recruiting Special Needs Teaching Assistants to work full-time in one of our Secondary Schools in Dulwich. These schools cater for children and young people with a range of learning and developmental needs, including Visual Impairments, Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with visual, physical, and communication needs during classroom and sensory-based learning.
  • Provide personal care, including feeding and mobility support, where required.
  • Use clear and adaptable communication methods to meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Assist students with emotional regulation and behaviour management, using positive and consistent strategies.
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and social interaction among pupils.
