Job summary

Philosophy Education in the United Kingdom is seeking Special Needs Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a Dulwich secondary school. You will work 8:30am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday, on full-time and flexible cover roles, with pay £103–£115 per day (Umbrella) and a focus on learners with visual, physical and communication needs.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, promoting emotional regulation, encouraging independence and social interaction, and collaborating with teachers

Qualifications

  • A caring, patient, and professional approach.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Two professional references covering the past two years.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with visual, physical, and communication needs during classroom and sensory-based learning.
  • Provide personal care, including feeding and mobility support, where required.
  • Use clear and adaptable communication methods to meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Assist students with emotional regulation and behaviour management, using positive and consistent strategies.
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and social interaction among pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and therapy teams to deliver individual learning plans.
