Job summary

TLTP Group is assisting a welcoming primary school in Romford to recruit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for an immediate start on a long-term basis. You will support pupils with diverse SEN needs across multiple year groups, and collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to promote inclusive learning.

The role requires prior SEN experience in a primary setting, strong ASD and behaviour management skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may present with complex

Qualifications

• Has previous experience working within a primary school SEN setting.
• Strong, practical experience supporting children with ASD.
• Experience managing and responding to challenging behaviour.
• Confident working with a range of ages and needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children who may present with complex needs.
• Calm, patient, resilient and consistent in approach.
• Works well as part of a wider school team.
• Proactive and able to adapt to changing needs throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

• Providing targeted support to pupils with a range of SEN needs.
• Supporting children across different year groups and classes.
• Working with pupils who have ASD and behavioural needs.
• Helping pupils to regulate their emotions and manage challenging behaviour.
• Supporting learning, communication, social development and independence.
• Working closely with class teachers, the SENCO and wider support staff.
• Adapting your approach according to individual pupils and their needs.
• Contributing to a positive, inclusive and nurturing school environment.
