Qualifications

Job description

Academics is on the lookout for caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistants (TAs) to support primary schools across the Stoke-on-Trent area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners by helping them unlock their potential.

About the Role:

As a SEN TA, you'll work across a range of welcoming mainstream primary schools, offering tailored one-on-one or small group support to pupils with a variety of additional needs. Whether part-time or full-time, your support will be crucial in helping students feel confident, included, and empowered to succeed.

Key Responsibilities of a SEN TA:

• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and abilities
• Support teachers in delivering fun, structured, and inclusive lessons
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence
• Nurture pupils' social and emotional development
• Build strong, supportive relationships with children, staff, and parents

What We're Looking For:

• Experience working with children with SEN (school-based preferred, but not essential)
• Patience, compassion, and a true understanding of different learning styles
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Confidence to manage behaviour calmly and effectively
