Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team across specialist schools and SEN provisions in Gloucester. In this role you will support pupils with diverse needs, helping them engage with learning and build confidence in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Experience in SEN, education, care or support work is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and engage in learning.
• Provide emotional, behavioural and pastoral support.
• Help pupils develop communication, social and independence skills.
• Support children with a range of complex and additional needs.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other staff.
• Create a calm, safe and supportive learning environment.

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs? Prospero Teaching are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team and work across specialist schools and SEN provisions in Gloucester.

The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to engage with learning, develop their confidence and build positive relationships within the school environment. You may work with pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, complex needs, communication difficulties, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.

The Role:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
• Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and engage in learning
• Providing emotional, behavioural and pastoral support
• Helping pupils develop their communication, social and independence skills
• Supporting children with a range of complex and additional needs
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff
• Helping to create a calm, safe and supportive learning environment
• Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop confidence

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
• Experience within SEN, education, care or support work is highly beneficial
• Patient, resilient and empathetic approach
