Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in Gloucester. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, helping learners engage with the curriculum and build confidence within a supportive school setting.

You will work with pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH and other needs, delivering emotional and behavioural support while collaborating with teachers and SENCOs to create calm, inclusive learning spaces.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people is desirable.
• Experience in SEN, education, care or support work is highly beneficial.
• Patient, resilient and empathetic approach.
• Confident supporting pupils with challenging or complex needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine interest in developing a career within SEN and education.

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs? Prospero Teaching are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team and work across specialist schools and SEN provisions in Gloucester.

The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to engage with learning, develop their confidence and build positive relationships within the school environment. You may work with pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, complex needs, communication difficulties, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.

The Role

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
• Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and engage in learning
• Providing emotional, behavioural and pastoral support
• Helping pupils develop their communication, social and independence skills
• Supporting children with a range of complex and additional needs
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff
