Job summary

Education First Recruitment is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Barking, East London, starting in January. The role involves supporting pupils with additional needs within the ARP and providing 1:1 and small-group support.

You will work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement individual plans, support pupils with autism, ADHD and speech and language needs, and promote positive behaviour, independence and social development.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEND.
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism / ASC.
  • Experience within a primary school, ARP, SEN school or specialist provision.
  • Experience providing 1:1 or small-group support.
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with pupils.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding.
  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Education, Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning is desirable.

Responsibilities

Make a real difference every day as an SEN Teaching Assistant

Education First is recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Barking, East London, starting in January.

The successful candidate will work within the school's Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP), supporting primary-aged pupils with a range of special educational needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN TA, SEND Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant looking for a long-term position within a supportive primary school environment.

The Role

What We're Looking For
