Job summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking an SEN Support Worker for a specialist secondary school in Middleton, Greater Manchester, to support pupils with complex needs. You will work with teachers, therapists, and support staff to foster learning, social skills, independence, and positive outcomes across the school day.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, personal care when needed, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to implement tailored strategies for ASC, PMLD, CLDD, and SEMH

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with additional needs.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours.
  • Willingness to provide personal care support.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in specialist education, care or residential settings.
  • Training in Team Teach or behaviour management is a plus.
  • Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, AAC or alternative communication methods.

The Role
