Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dedicated SEN Supervisor to join a welcoming school in Kettering. This role supports pupils with SEND, helping them access learning, regulate emotions and participate fully in lessons.

The successful candidate will bring experience in supporting young people with SEND, strong behaviour management and a patient, nurturing approach. An enhanced DBS is desirable; term-time schedules apply.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
• Ability to adapt learning and support strategies to meet individual needs.
• Previous experience in a school, care, youth work, or support setting is desirable.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom supervision and support for pupils with SEND.
• Deliver targeted interventions and support learning activities.
• Assist students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement support plans.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Cover Supervisor, or someone with a background supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, regulate emotions, and achieve their full potential within a safe and inclusive environment.
