Job summary

City Of Wolverhampton Council is seeking a Specialist Teacher (SEN/D) on a permanent full-time basis, starting 01 January 2027. The post is graded £34,069–£52,835 (Teacher’s Pay Scale + SEN Allowance £2,885–£5,690) and requires 32.4 hours per week of commitment.

You will join Specialist Learning Support to raise attainment by delivering assessments, direct teaching, and training across schools, while advising SENCOs and staff and liaising with parents and other professionals within SEND and

Qualifications

• This post is not suitable for Early Career Teachers.
• Interviews will be held on Thursday 15th October 2026.
• This post is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Responsibilities

• Assessment, direct teaching, consultation with school staff and the development and delivery of training.
• Raise the attainment of children and young people by supporting learning and contributing to SEND provision across the school.
• Advising SENCOs, class teachers, and teaching assistants, as well as liaising with parents/carers and other professionals within SEND and Inclusion, and across Health and Social Care.
