Job summary

National Instruments is seeking two dedicated teachers to join Specialist Provision classes in Antrim/Newtownabbey. Posts focus on SEN with SLD pupils and social communication needs, requiring a robust teaching qualification and SEN experience.

You will plan, deliver and assess lessons, support pupils’ progress, and work with families and professionals to tailor learning across the school day. Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice is essential.

Qualifications

• Hold a teaching qualification which meets the requirements for recognition to teach in grant-aided schools in Northern Ireland.
• Experience in working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and developing positive relationships for learning.
• Registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI) before taking up post.
• Experience using digital media/technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare courses and lessons for pupils with diverse needs.
• Teach and assess pupils, providing feedback and progress reports.
• Promote the wellbeing and conduct of pupils and support safeguarding.
• Collaborate with parents, colleagues and external professionals to meet pupils' needs.
• Utilise specialist SEN equipment and strategies as appropriate.
