Job summary

Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school team. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with ASD, SLD and PMLD in a nurturing environment, helping learners develop confidence and communication skills.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:30pm, with a daily rate of £85–£100 (including holiday pay) on a temporary to permanent basis.

Role: SEN Learning Support Assistant Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:30pm Rate of Pay: £85 - £100 per day (including holiday pay) Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent Opportunity

Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with a range of complex needs.

Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.

Encouraging pupil participation, independence, and social development.

Supporting communication, sensory needs, and emotional wellbeing.

Helping with personal care requirements where necessary.

Working closely with therapists, teaching staff, and other professionals.

Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all learners.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Previous experience supporting individuals with ASD, SLD, PMLD, or similar additional needs.

A patient, caring, and resilient approach.

The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Knowledge of safeguarding and inclusive practice.

An Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Reliable transport or the ability to travel to Welwyn Garden City each day.

Your own dedicated consultant for ongoing support.
