Job summary

SEN Teaching Assistant - Near Guildford, Surrey

Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? We are recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school near Guildford, Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dedicated team committed to helping pupils thrive in a supportive and therapeutic learning environment.

Location: Near Guildford, Surrey

Days: Monday - Friday (term-time only)

Pay: £14.00 - £15.50 per hour

Contract: Long-term with the opportunity to become permanent

Please note: Due to the school's rural location, applicants must have their own transport.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting pupils with complex mental health needs and additional learning needs. Working closely with teachers and therapists, you'll help create a calm, structured environment where students can feel safe, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support throughout the school day.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation using consistent approaches.
  • Supporting pupils across a range of key stages with both academic and personal development.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider school team to deliver tailored learning and wellbeing support.

The school offers small class sizes, a therapeutic approach to education, and personalised learning plans designed to help every student reach their full potential.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced within an SEN setting (desirable but not essential).
