Job Title: SEN/SEMH Tutor (Fully Qualified Teacher)

Location: Hexham and Northumberland (Tuition at home, in school, or community venues)

Contract: Zero hours

Pay: Competitive hourly rate

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced tutor to work with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. This is an excellent opportunity for fully qualified teachers with a passion for making a difference in the lives of young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored tuition sessions to students with SEN/SEMH needs.

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their learning and wellbeing.

  • Adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs and environments (home, school, community venues).

  • Collaborate effectively with parents, schools, and other professionals to ensure a consistent approach to learning and support.

  • Maintain accurate records of sessions and student progress.

Requirements
  • Fully qualified teacher status (QTS).

  • Proven experience teaching in UK schools.

  • Experience working with SEN and SEMH students.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with students and colleagues.

  • Flexibility to work across various locations and times.

  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
