Job summary

TimePlan Education is seeking a dedicated SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 11-16 at an alternative provision secondary school in Thrapston, Northamptonshire. You will work closely with teaching staff to provide individualised support and help students re-engage with learning.

The role is full-time, term-time only, 8:15am-3:30pm, with a daily rate of 105-125 depending on experience and free on-site parking. Driving is advantageous to reach the school.

Qualifications

• Experience or interest in SEN and SEMH needs.
• Patience, resilience and empathy in supporting young people.

Responsibilities

• Support students aged 11-16 with SEN and SEMH needs.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group assistance inside and outside the classroom.
• Help students manage emotions and develop positive behaviours.
• Encourage engagement with learning and build confidence.
• Support students with challenging or dysregulated behaviour.
• Build positive relationships with students and work with teachers.
