Job summary

Balfor Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a role in Thrapston, Northamptonshire. The position supports secondary pupils in an Alternative Provision/specialist setting; prior UK experience preferred. Competitive daily pay and long-term opportunities are offered.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, assisting teachers with differentiated activities while promoting SEMH, autism and ADHD support. A calm, resilient approach and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months' UK school/education experience.
  • Experience as TA, Learning Support or Education Support Worker.
  • Experience with SEMH, autism and/or ADHD preferred.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
  • Support SEMH, autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour.
  • Deliver engaging, differentiated learning activities.
  • Maintain a safe, structured learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
