Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting Behaviour & Learning Support Assistants to work in SEN/SEMH schools across the Chorley area. You will provide 1:1 and small group support, assist pupils in and out of class, and help develop positive learning behaviours.

This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities with entry from ASAP and ongoing consultant support. DBS checks and qualifications as required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in education, care, support work, sports coaching, youth work, or similar settings.
• Positive, patient and resilient attitude.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• SEN/SEMH experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN/SEMH needs.
• Supporting students both in and out of the classroom.
• Encouraging engagement, participation and positive learning behaviours.
• Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner.
• Building positive relationships and acting as a strong role model for young people.
• Working with teaching staff to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
