Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher to join specialist SEN and SEMH secondary schools across Portsmouth.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher who wants to make a genuine difference to the education, development and wellbeing of young people with additional needs.

ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply, with appropriate support available.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher (QTS) or have relevant teaching experience.
• Experience working with, or a strong interest in SEN and SEMH students.
• Patience, resilience and passion for inclusive education.
• Excellent communication and behaviour-management skills.
• Commitment to helping every student reach potential.
• Nurturing, flexible and consistent teaching approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Support secondary-aged students with SEN and SEMH needs.
• Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral teams and other professionals.
• Build strong relationships with students.
• Support students' academic, social and emotional development.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of abilities.
