Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting an SEN Teacher to join specialist secondary schools in Portsmouth. You will deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual needs, supporting SEN and SEMH students and creating an inclusive classroom environment.

The role requires a qualified teacher with QTS or relevant experience, excellent communication, and resilience to support students’ academic, social and emotional development. Start ASAP in full-time specialist settings.

Qualifications

Qualified teacher with QTS or relevant teaching experience.
Experience working with SEN and SEMH students.
Excellent communication and behaviour-management skills.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
Support secondary-aged students with SEN and SEMH needs.
Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral teams and other professionals.
Build strong, positive relationships with students.
Support students with their academic, social and emotional development.
Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of abilities and additional needs.
Promote confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
