Job summary

Esland seeks a qualified SEN Science Teacher to join a brand new SEN school opening in Doncaster. You will deliver science teaching to pupils aged 7–18 with SEND/SEMH, supporting learning, wellbeing and curriculum delivery.

Role is full-time, 8:30am–4:30pm, Monday–Friday, with a focus on inclusion, progression to GCSE where possible, and a broad qualifications range from Entry Level to GCSE. Relocation not required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher status required.
• Strong science curriculum knowledge across key stages.
• Experience with SEND/SEMH and specialist education.
• Experience with students who may present challenging behaviours.

• Ability to plan, evaluate and monitor learning progress.

Hours: full time (core hours 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday)

We are excited to announce that Esland will be opening a new SEN school in Doncaster in September 2026. This is an exciting and fantastic opportunity to be part of a new, specialist provision supporting vulnerable young people aged 7 to 18 years who have SEND and SEMH needs.

Pupils are encouraged to cover a range of qualifications ranging from Entry Level Certificates, through Functional Skills to GCSE.

• Qualified Teacher status
• Sound curriculum knowledge surrounding science (ideally across several key stages)
• Proven experience of working with specialist education for young people
• Proven experience of working with young people that challenge
• A committed, conscientious and passionate approach to inclusion
• The ability to plan, evaluate and monitor learning and progress
• The ability to build good relationships with young people and staff members alike
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and use time effectively
• A positive attitude to hard work and challenging situations
