Job summary

The Esland Group Ltd is opening a new SEN school in Doncaster in September 2026 and seeks a qualified SEN Maths Teacher to deliver a specialist maths curriculum for pupils aged 7 to 18 with SEND/SEMH. You will join a brand-new provision and collaborate with staff to establish high standards of learning, wellbeing and inclusion.

Role requires Qualified Teacher Status, strong maths knowledge across key stages, and experience with challenging learners.

Qualifications

• Must have Qualified Teacher Status and be able to teach maths across key stages.
• Solid maths curriculum knowledge and ability to plan, monitor and review progress.
• Experience with SEND/ SEMH and pupils who present behavioural or learning challenges.
• Commitment to inclusive practice and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to pupil learning, development and wellbeing across key stages.
• Plan, deliver and assess maths lessons aligned to a broad SEN curriculum.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff to support inclusion.
• Evaluate progress and adapt instruction to meet diverse needs.

Contract: permanent

Hours: full time (core hours 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday)

We are excited to announce that Esland will be opening a new SEN school in Doncaster in September 2026. This is an exciting and fantastic opportunity to be part of a new, specialist provision supporting vulnerable young people aged 7 to 18 years who have SEND and SEMH needs.

Pupils are encouraged to cover a range of qualifications ranging from Entry Level Certificates, through Functional Skills to GCSE.

We are looking for an outstanding, committed and qualified teacher to contribute to pupil learning, development and well-being.

We will be looking to recruit a staff team that has a multitude of talents to enable us to provide a rich academic curriculum from the outset and look forward to hearing what additional skills, talents and interests you could bring to this role.

What we need from you:

• Qualified Teacher status
• Sound curriculum knowledge surrounding mathematics (ideally across several key stages)
• Proven experience of working with specialist education for young people
• Proven experience of working with young people that challenge
• A committed, conscientious and passionate approach to inclusion
• The ability to plan, evaluate and monitor learning and progress
• The ability to build good relationships with young people and staff members alike
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and use time effectively
• A positive attitude to hard work and challenging situations
