Job summary

The Best Connection are recruiting a Passenger Assistant for a school transport role near Rochester Airport in Kent. You will work with a Minibus Driver to help children with Special Educational Needs travel safely.

No prior experience is required as full training is provided. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00–9:30 and 14:00–16:30 during school terms. The role offers £12.95 per hour, ongoing part-time work, full training, and a potential permanent position after 13 weeks.

Qualifications

• A caring, patient, and reliable approach.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children and colleagues.
• Understanding of safeguarding and passenger safety.
• Ability to support children with a range of additional needs.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting children safely on and off the vehicle.
• Supporting passengers with emotional, physical, and additional needs.
• Ensuring passenger safety throughout each journey.
• Helping create a calm, positive, and supportive environment.
• Assisting with specialist vehicle equipment, including accessibility features.
• Accompanying passengers to and from designated pick-up and drop-off points.
