Job summary

Pokesdown Community Primary School in the United Kingdom is seeking two specialist teachers to lead our new Resource Bases for KS1 and KS2. Roles involve managing a small team, overseeing assessments and annual reviews for pupils with ASD and SEND, and liaising with external professionals to ensure each child progresses.

The Base Leaders will help develop an integrated curriculum within a supportive, forward-thinking school community. Start date January 2027, full-time with possible job shares.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with ASD and other SEND needs.
• Ability to lead a base and coordinate a small team.
• Flexible, adaptable and collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead a base for 8 children with EHCPs (ASD) within KS1 or KS2.
• Oversee assessments and annual reviews for base pupils.
• Work with Headteacher, SEND team and external professionals to develop practice.
• Develop an integrated curriculum and shared approaches across the school.
• Share energy and knowledge with families and staff in the base and wider school.
