Job summary

Riversdale Primary School in London is seeking a dedicated practitioner to lead a class of children with SLCN/ASD in the primary phase, ideally with experience in a Base or specialist provision.

The successful candidate will bring knowledge of strategies to support pupils with emotional regulation, non-verbal or pre-verbal learners, and a commitment to inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching pupils with ASD/SLCN in primary settings.
• Ability to support pupils who are non-verbal or pre-verbal.
• Understanding of emotional regulation strategies for SEND

Job description

• Hasadditional SEND and/or ASD qualifications or a commitment to undertake suchtraining.
• Hasexperience of working effectively with children with SLCN/ASD, ideally in aBase or specialist setting.
• Hasexperience of working effectively with children in EYFS.
• Canwork effectively with children that are non-verbal, pre-verbal and/ornewly-verbal.
• Understandsstrategies that support pupils with emotional regulation.
• Hasa good understanding of special needs children and how to inspire and motivatethem.
• Hasexcellent spoken and written language skills and is able to challenge, inspireand motivate others.
• Hashigh expectations and is dedicated in enabling children to fulfil their fullpotential.
• Supportsand promotes the inclusive ethos of the school through the development of apersonalised learning programme and the integration of pupils into mainstream,where appropriate.
