Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils across primary school settings in Manchester. The role requires recent practical UK school experience within the last 2 years and a calm, patient approach to supporting learners with a range of needs.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, help pupils access lessons, and assist with differentiated activities while collaborating with teachers and the SENCO to monitor progress and behaviour.

Qualifications

  • Recent practical UK school experience within the last 2 years.
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Calm, patient and consistent approach.
  • Strong behaviour management and safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group SEND support.
  • Supporting pupils to access classroom learning.
  • Assisting with differentiated activities and interventions.
  • Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other needs.
  • Helping pupils with communication and social development.
  • Supporting transitions and classroom routines.
  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs.
  • Monitoring and feeding back on pupil progress.

Aspire People are recruiting experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils across primary school settings.

We are looking for candidates who have practical experience supporting children with SEND within a UK school during the last 2 years.

IMPORTANT: Candidates MUST have relevant practical UK school experience within the last 2 years.

The Role:
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group SEND support
  • Supporting pupils to access classroom learning
  • Assisting with differentiated activities and interventions
  • Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs
  • Helping pupils with communication and social development
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Building positive relationships with pupils
  • Supporting transitions and classroom routines
  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs
  • Monitoring and feeding back on pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Recent practical experience working in a UK school within the last 2 years
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND
  • Confident supporting children with a range of additional needs
  • Calm, patient and consistent approach
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Good understanding of safeguarding
  • Able to adapt support to individual pupil needs
  • Reliable and professional
