Job summary

Randstad Education Leeds in Barnsley is seeking an expert SEN primary teacher to lead an adaptive, resource-rich classroom and transform young lives. This full-time role offers dedicated support from a Barnsley SEND placements specialist, with emphasis on EHCP outcomes, safeguarding, and collaboration with the SENDCo and external specialists.

You will mentor classroom support staff, use positive behaviour management and build strong relationships with parents and carers, while accessing

Qualifications

QTS or UK recognised qualification with SEN focus.
Proven track record teaching primary pupils with complex educational or behavioural needs.
Excellent knowledge of adaptive teaching strategies, EHCP tracking, and safeguarding standards.
Enhanced DBS check registered on Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
Strong collaborative, organisational, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver tailored primary learning programs for pupils with complex sensory and educational needs.
Collaborate with the SENDCo and external specialists to fulfill EHCP outcomes effectively.
Guide, deploy, and mentor classroom support staff to ensure safe, inclusive learning spaces.
Use positive behaviour management and low-arousal strategies to maintain an encouraging workspace.
Build strong, trusted connections with parents and carers through regular feedback.
