Job summary

Education People is helping a lovely primary school in Weston-super-Mare find an experienced SEN Teacher to join their specialist resource base from September. You will teach a very small class across KS1/KS2, personalising the curriculum to each child’s needs, interests and abilities in a calm, nurturing environment.

The role suits a Primary Teacher with SEN experience (ASD/SEMH desirable), strong relationship-building, patience and high expectations while meeting pupils where they are.

Qualifications

• Has QTS and Primary teaching experience
• Has experience working with children with SEN
• Understands ASD and/or SEMH
• Can adapt and personalise the curriculum
• Is calm, patient and consistent
• Builds strong relationships with children
• Has high expectations but understands the importance of meeting pupils where they are
• Is passionate about helping children make progress both academically and personally

Responsibilities

• Teach a small class within the resource base, planning and delivering engaging primary-level lessons
• Support pupils with their wider development and personalise learning
• Build strong relationships and understand how each child learns best
