Job Advert: Primary Teacher for SEMH School in South London (CR3)
About the school:
Melrose school is a specialist school catering for pupils aged 5-16 years all with EHCP’s. Students have primarily Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs with some additional needs such as ADHD, Trauma or Speech and Language needs. Focusing on a nurturing environment working alongside CAMHS, Speech and Language therapists, Occupational therapists, educational psychologists, Social Workers and Mentors.
Position: 1 x English Teacher and 1 x Humanities Teacher
Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Full Time, 5 days per week
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Paid according to experience and qualifications
Contract: Long-term position with potential to turn into a permanent placement
Roles and Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons for primary core subjects that can be tailored for students’ needs
Understands students individual difficulties and focus on supporting their personal experience
Prepare students for the internal secondary school
Requirements:
Proven experience teaching children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly in an SEMH setting.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
A current DBS check registered on the Update Service.
The right to work in the UK.
