Job summary

ISP School Battle invites a dedicated One-to-One Teaching Assistant to support a pupil and small group, 22.5 hours per week, three days weekly in Battle, East Sussex. Start ASAP and accompanying a pupil to Plumpton College is included.

You will mentor, assist teachers, report on progress, supervise during non-class time, help with lesson planning, set work, and drive positive learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong basic education, GCSE English and Mathematics at C or equivalent.
• Ideal to have A-levels and sound IT skills.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role.
• Experience with SEMH pupils in education setting.
• Ability to lead on a specialism (reading, maths, forest school).
• Commitment to professional development and safeguarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group (up to five).
• Support the classroom teacher during lessons.
• Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-class time and trips.
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom prep; set work and mark.
