Job summary

ISP School Battle is seeking a One-to-One Teaching Assistant on a fixed term, term-time basis in Battle, East Sussex. The role focuses on mentoring a pupil, supporting lessons, and reporting progress to staff.

The ideal candidate will have GCSEs and prior TA or SEMH experience, with readiness to lead a small specialism and support a safe, engaging learning environment. DBS check will be required.

Qualifications

• Has minimum GCSE Grade C in English Language and Mathematics
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role
• Some SEMH experience in education setting
• Able to lead on a subject area (e.g., reading or maths)

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group (≤5)
• Assist the class teacher during lessons
• Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time and trips
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom prep
• Set work and mark where appropriate
• Build positive relationships to drive learning outcomes
