Job summary

Learn Academies Trust is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support teachers and SEN pupils. You will work 1:1 with individuals or small groups, assist with planned activities, and help maintain a safe learning environment in line with school policies.

The role requires good literacy and numeracy, patience, and teamwork. An NVQ2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent is required or demonstrated capability.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent, or ability to meet STL Level 2 standards.
• Experience working with children is desirable.
• Good literacy and numeracy levels required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the teacher in delivering planned whole-class activities.
• Work with individuals or small groups, giving feedback on engagement and progress.
• Help maintain a safe and secure learning environment aligned with lesson plans.
• Observe pupil performance and behaviour and feed back to the teacher as appropriate.
• Support development of pupils' numeracy and literacy skills during learning activities.
• Prepare and utilise ICT resources to support pupils' learning.
