Job summary

Greenway Junior School in Swindon is seeking a caring SEN Learning Support Assistant for 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This fixed-term role runs until 31 August 2027 and focuses on helping children with SEN access learning and develop confidence.

You'll support learning activities, work with teachers, encourage independence, and build strong relationships with pupils, families, and professionals in a friendly, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Ability to support learning activities, clarify instructions and engage children effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills to plan, prioritise tasks and maintain records.
  • Good communication, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Flexible, calm under pressure, passionate about helping children.

Responsibilities

  • Support children with special educational needs to access learning and achieve goals.
  • Work with teachers to deliver engaging, personalised activities and interventions.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and independence.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and external professionals.
  • Contribute to an inclusive school environment where every child can flourish.
  • Receive ongoing training and opportunities to develop skills within a collaborative team.
