Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Basildon is seeking enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistants to join a range of local schools. You will provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to help pupils access education and develop confidence.

Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and families to deliver personalised strategies for EHCPs, with flexible day-to-day supply, bank roles and long-term/permanent opportunities, plus ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people with SEN in schools or care settings.
• Understanding EHCPs and delivering individualized support.
• Patient, resilient and compassionate approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Qualifications desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other needs.
• Implement EHCP strategies and targets.
• Adapt learning activities to individual abilities and learning styles.
• Encourage communication, independence, confidence and social interactions.
• Promote positive behaviour with consistent and supportive techniques.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and parents.
• Assist with personal care where required (depending on the role).
