TeacherActive is recruiting SEND Learning Support Assistants to work within Basildon and surrounding areas, providing essential support to pupils with a range of needs.

You will assist in mainstream and specialist settings, delivering 1:1 and group support, under the guidance of teachers and SENCOs. A patient, proactive approach and safeguarding commitment are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or care setting.
• Patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Safeguarding-focused approach and commitment to pupil welfare.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Assist pupils with learning activities and engagement in the classroom.
• Support development of pupil confidence, independence and social skills.
• Help maintain a calm, positive learning environment.
• Support pupils with challenging behaviour when required.
