Job summary

Classroom Support is partnering with a large SEN school near Ashford to recruit Learning Support Assistants for September and October. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN, work with teachers to deliver engaging, accessible learning, and support pupils in line with their IEPs.

You will encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop social and emotional skills. This role offers competitive daily pay of £90-£95, weekly pay, opportunities for long-term and permanent

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, MLD or other needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach to behaviour management.
• Passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential.
• Excellent communication and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Work with the class teacher to deliver engaging and accessible learning.
• Support pupils in line with IEPs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and develop social and emotional skills.
• Manage challenging behaviour using positive strategies.
• Promote independence, confidence and engagement inside and outside the classroom.
