Job summary

Pertemps Education Network is assisting an independent SEN school in Kingston upon Thames to recruit a Learning Support Assistant. You will work with teachers, therapists and support staff to help pupils access learning, develop communication skills and build confidence.

Ideal candidates have a background in psychology, SEN or related fields and are patient, empathetic, and resilient. Full-time or part-time considered, with opportunities to develop in Autism, Speech & Language and SEN settings.

Qualifications

• Background in psychology, SEN, autism, or speech and language.
• Experience with Learning Support or education settings is advantageous.
• Willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
• Support pupils with ASC and speech, language and communication needs.
• Help pupils develop communication, social and emotional skills.
• Assist pupils to engage with lessons and differentiated activities.
• Implement strategies from therapists and other professionals.
• Support positive behaviour and help pupils regulate emotions.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and families.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, therapists and other staff.
