Job summary

Pertemps Education Network is seeking an SEN Learning Support Assistant for a secondary school in Wembley. You will support students with SEND 1:1 and in small groups to access the curriculum and engage in lessons.

Ideal candidates will have experience with Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome and EHCPs, plus strong communication and a patient, resilient approach. This is a full-time, term-time contract with a competitive salary dependent on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Understanding of Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome and other additional needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN.
• Assist students in accessing the curriculum and engaging positively in lessons.
• Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs.
• Support students with organisation, emotional regulation and social interaction.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals.
• Monitor and record student progress and wellbeing.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Support students during break times, transitions and school activities where required.
