Job summary

The HireWorks Ltd is seeking an SEN Learning Support Assistant for a September start at a welcoming Stanstead Abbots school in Essex. This full-time, term-time only role offers daily collaboration with teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with additional needs.

You will work one-to-one and in small groups, helping children access learning and develop independence, confidence, and resilience within an inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children or young people is desirable, but not essential.
• A positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm.
• Willingness to learn and grow in education.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Helping children with a range of Special Educational Needs access learning in a positive and engaging way.
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and resilience.
• Supporting pupils with needs such as Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Building positive relationships that help pupils feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt learning activities and celebrate progress every step of the way.
