Job summary

Principal Education is recruiting on behalf of a special school in Hammersmith for a Learning Support Assistant to join full-time until July 2027. You will work one-to-one or in small groups, supporting pupils with special educational needs, including autism and learning disabilities, alongside the class teacher to create a calm and supportive classroom.

The role requires patience, empathy and reliability, with daytime hours Monday to Friday and no nights.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK.
• Experience in care, support work, schools or with young people with additional needs.
• Patience, empathy, composure and reliability.
• Full time availability, Monday to Friday.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new application.
• Overseas police clearance if you've lived abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with learning, communication and daily routines.
• Help pupils stay calm and regulated when things get difficult.
• Assist with personal care, feeding and mobility where needed.
• Work closely with teachers and therapists on each pupil's plan.
