Job summary

Senploy is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant for Stanstead Abbotts, Hertfordshire. The role is Monday to Friday, term-time only, 34 hours per week, supporting children aged 2-19 with severe and complex learning needs. You will work closely with teachers to deliver 1:1 and small-group support and help pupils access the curriculum.

We welcome caring, patient and resilient individuals; previous SEN experience is helpful but training will be provided. An enhanced DBS is required.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient and resilient with a genuine desire to support SEND.
• Enthusiastic about working with pupils with additional needs.
• Previous SEN experience welcomed; training will be provided.
• Comfortable with autism, ADHD and communication needs.
• Able to stay calm and positive in challenging situations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Enhanced Adult & Child DBS on Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 and small-group support.
• Support personalised learning programmes and activities.
• Assist pupils with personal care needs when required.
• Support pupils during swimming and physical activities.
• Encourage communication, interaction and social development.
• Help pupils manage emotions and develop positive behaviours.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff.
• Create a calm, safe, inclusive environment.
