Job summary

Teach Now is recruiting an SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist primary school in Hertfordshire. The role focuses on supporting pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties and other needs, providing 1:1 and group support to access tailored learning activities.

The position is full-time, long-term/temporary with a daily rate of £100–£102, starting October 2026. You will collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to promote communication, independence and safeguarding.

Teach Now is looking for a caring and committed SEN Learning Support Assistant – SLD Specialist Setting to join a specialist primary school in Hertfordshire.

The school supports a large cohort of pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), alongside children with autism, communication needs, sensory differences and other additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build meaningful experience in specialist education and make a genuine difference to children's everyday development.

The role

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will support pupils with their individual learning, communication, social development and independence.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1, small-group and classroom support.
• Helping pupils access individualised learning activities.
• Supporting communication using visual or alternative strategies where required.
