Role: Primary SEN Learning Support Assistant

Location: Redruth

Full Time, Permanent role

We have a wonderful opportunity available for a skilled SEN TA to work in a fantastic Primary School within the Redruth area. We are keen to hear from applicants with experience in working with Primary aged individuals with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will be patient, supportive and enthusiastic, and able to use your creativity and initiative to provide accessible education content tailored to our students.

This is a fantastic opportunity for those wanting to progress their skills and experience in teaching and learning. Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviours would be an advantage.

About the role:

  • Supporting the classroom teacher in managing the class and supporting students in focusing and engaging in their learning
  • Get the classroom ready for lessons
  • Supervise group activities or work with students on a 1:1 basis, depending on need
  • Provide a healthy and safe learning environment for children
  • Build meaningful and long-lasting relationships to help students excel both academically, socially and emotional

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of strategies to support young people with both their studies and wellbeing
  • Understanding of additional needs including ASD and ADHD.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Must be able to drive, have access to your own vehicle (must have been driving for at least 2 years)
