Contract: Full time

A fantastic school supported by our agency is seeking to appoint a dedicated, passionate, and empathetic learning support assistant to join their close-knit team. The school supports learners with barriers to learning, including SEMH, autism, ADHD, and Asperger's.

Built upon the 'thrive’ approach, the school is committed to placing students at the center of their work, adapting the curriculum to meet their needs. Students are encouraged to flourish and reach their full potential.

About the role:

  1. Supporting the classroom teacher in managing the class and supporting students in focusing and engaging in their learning.
  2. Potentially working across other sites and outreach centers.
  3. Preparing the classroom for lessons.
  4. Supervising group activities or working with students on a 1:1 basis, depending on needs.
  5. Providing a healthy and safe learning environment for children.
  6. Building meaningful and long-lasting relationships to help students excel academically, socially, and emotionally.

Requirements:

  1. Experience working with children with special educational needs.
  2. Strong knowledge of strategies to support young people's studies and wellbeing.
  3. Understanding of additional needs including autism, ADHD, and Asperger's.
  4. Ability to work well as part of a team.
  5. Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle (minimum 2 years driving experience).
